Members of the California Straw Building Association will work on a straw bale and light-straw-clay (LSC) demonstration building during the fair, 9 – 6 on Saturday, 9 – 5 on Sunday.  We’ll be stacking bales into three different wall assemblies, packing LSC, re-sizing and notching bales, discussing different post-and-beam options and shear wall systems, how to run electrical and plumbing in straw bale walls, lath and mesh options, plastering, and much more.  Presentations on CASBA’s new book Straw Bale Building Details: An Illustrated Guild for Design and Construction will be held at the Renewable Energy and Natural Building Stage both days from 10:00 to 11:30.
